The Hub corrects system flaws and directs organizational change by providing faculty, staff and students with training in Lean Sigma, Teamwork and Communication and by weaving in health care quality and safety.

Supporting a grass roots model of improvement, the Hub helps coordinate the efforts of interdisciplinary teams of physicians, nurses, and managers within Sibley to ensure that evidence-based best practices are deployed throughout the system.

The Hub’s approach is to systematically foster a culture rooted in safety by creating an expectation that safety is a priority. In addition to supporting Sibley’s patient safety efforts, the Hub will begin its work with hospitals and healthcare delivery systems both in the United States and internationally to advance institutional and governmental leadership on how best to create adaptive and innovative delivery systems that address patient and provider needs.

Dr. Davis joined Johns Hopkins in 1993 and quickly demonstrated his leadership ability in a variety of positions, including quality improvement, innovation and safety. He established the Johns Hopkins Medicine Center for Innovation and led a highly successful drive to improve Quality Core Measures.

He has published in the area of infection control, quality and safety and spoken at national and internal conferences on these subjects as well as health care leadership.
