Office of the State Superintendent of Education

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is the State Education Agency for the District of Columbia charged with raising the quality of education for all DC residents.  OSSE’s Division of Postsecondary and Career Education (PCE) supports programs that improve the overall postsecondary enrollment, graduation, certificate completion, and employment rates for youth and adults in the District of Columbia. Through financial and programmatic supports such as the Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) program and the Mayor’s Scholars Undergraduate program, PCE creates opportunities for District of Columbia youth and adults to attend postsecondary institutions and earn certifications and/or college degrees. PCE also funds adult education providers and assists residents in obtaining adult literacy/numeracy proficiency, acquiring a GED, or another similar credential.
